Living Longer Living Stronger

Living Longer Living Stronger (LLLS) is a program designed by the Council on the Ageing (COTA) which aims to increase the range and quality of strength training opportunities for older people as previously there were limited opportunities.

Did you know that you are never too old to start a Strength Training program? The average person looses 10% of their muscle strength for every 10 years after 50. Undertaking weight training has been found to reduce this as well as improve fitness and balance.

Each participant is assessed and the program commences at the appropriate level for each individual.

Sessions are available at low cost and are held in an atmosphere that is fun, enjoyable and welcoming.

At CHFC we have TWO (2) options available;

Circuit Classes
These classes are fully supervised and instructed. The 7.30am group is more “up tempo” while the 8.30am group is ideal for those starting out as it’s an “easy paced” group.
These classes continue to attract a dedicated following and have become so popular that we had to divide it into two groups

Individual Programs
A “tailor-made” individualized strength training programs will be developed for you so you can work at your own pace in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Ideal for people who have time during the day or with particular complex health conditions as time can be taken, encouragement and support provided for you while instructing you on correct technique and safety.
